an introduction
meet kyshoen

I am many things to many people. To some I am a teammate, to others I am a coach; my family knows me as a husband, a son, a brother, and an uncle. My life has been filled with mistakes, second chances, successes, and failures. However, no matter what path I chose, life has taught me that the goal of the journey is not just to reach my destination, but it has always been to become a better person so that I could, in turn, encourage someone else to do the same.

the early years

Originally from New York, I moved to East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania at the age of 9 with my mother and 3 older brothers. There, I was raised by a single mother who exuded strength and grace as she worked, took care of my brother with Cerebral Palsy, and taught her sons how to become men.

After high school I attended Virginia Tech where I met my wife and graduated with a degree in Human Development: Professional Helping Skills and Minored in both Sociology as well as Communications.
Upon graduating, God granted me the opportunity to participate in the 2015 combine. Blessed with a versatile ability, I was drafted to the Washington Redskins and earned a starting role my rookie season.

At the end of that regular season, in my final game, I was injured. From the age of 9, my life revolved around the game football.
The injury brought my entire life and self-worth into question, but more importantly it built my testimony, it shifted my focus and made way for God to bring my bigger purpose to fruition.

on a mission

June of 2017, I began my very own website, KyshoenJarrett.com; which includes 2 of my life after football passions. DGC Inspires Foundation has been birthed to assist, support, and improve lives of families who live with Cerebral Palsy through 4 Main Corners of Impact. Mission Incr34se will focus its attention to root identity, character, and purpose through events that engage men, women, youth as well as community.

The bigger purpose is set by equipping others towards spiritual, mental, emotional, intellectual and physical gain. I am driven to help Conquer fears and Incr34se the faith with any individual or community I have the privilege to cross paths with.
